Dead Drop Encryption designed from scratch
Latha's question drives two years of research. Sriram designs the core model during COVID lockdown: asymmetric communication, no PKI, each party holds only their own password.

2021 to 2022
Launched as a traditional auth platform
HexaEight shipped as a developer authentication platform: QR-based login, API protection, 2FA. The encryption was the same. The market wasn't ready to see it for what it was.
November 2022
ChatGPT arrives. The redesign begins.
The world discovers AI agents. The algorithm is rebuilt around SHAKE-256: post-quantum secure, purpose-built for machine-to-machine communication at scale.
2023 to 2026
Rebuilt on open standards
The original patented construction was deliberately retired in favor of NIST- and IETF-standard ciphers — AES-256-GCM, ChaCha20-Poly1305, AES-256-GCM-SIV, and SHAKE-256 / KMAC-256. A conscious trade: proprietary math wins patents; standard math wins trust, independent review, and portability. Existing adopters migrate onto the same primitives every platform already speaks — no lock-in, no bespoke crypto to audit.
2026
Preprint published — open for review
The formal security analysis of the client transport is published as a preprint (DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21212042), open to the global cryptographic community alongside six independent AI-model reviews.
What we believe

We believe that in the near future, humans, machines and programs will have the capability to identify each other using their digital identity tokens, and we are building the platform that can power this future.

We believed this before it was obvious. We still do.
